RAGSDALE ELECTRONIC POLICY

●     Students should not be using their personal device*/phone during classroom instruction.

●     Students should place their phone in the location designated by classroom policy.

●     Phones should not be taken out of the classroom when out on a pass (not to the bathroom) and phone should be placed in designated area before students leave class.

●     Earphones/air pods should not be worn in the classroom.

 

○     1st Offense: Warning

○     2nd Offense: Phone locked in secure location for remainder of class by student

○     3rd Offense or failure to comply initial consequence: Student’s electronic device will be confiscated and placed in the main office Additional consequences may be given

○     4th Offense: Daily phone turn in or no phone allowed at school.

○     Additional offenses will be subject to additional consequences.

●     In case of emergency, the classroom teacher will return any confiscated electronic devices.

●     Occasions may exist where teachers will permit students to use electronic devices for educational purposes as outlined in their lesson plan.

Due to communication needs, the electronic device may be released to students at the end of the day with parent communication. For multi-day confiscations the student must return the same phone to ATTENDANCE each day to be signed in or signed out.

*personal device can include phones, gaming devices, or non-classroom approved devices like iPad, readers, etc.
